Last night (8th January) the latest bunch of new recruits joined Rushmere Community Runners when they started our popular C25K programme.
Over 40 people joined Run Leader Sarah, and other RCR helpers, running for 60 seconds, followed by walking 90 seconds. For some, this is the first time that they have tried running and it was all smiles by the end of the evening.
The group will now meet every week for the next eight Tuesdays, gradually increasing the time spent running until the final week when they will run for 5K non stop and receive their course medals.
Attendees of previous RCR C25K courses have gone on to do amazing things, including taking part in 5k, 10k events and half marathons. One member, who started running by joining RCR’s first C25K last January has even become a run leader helping others, so the sky really is the limit for this brand new bunch of runners!
